Opening of the Russian–Arab Literature Pavilion at the Russian House in Tunis

Tunis, Tunisia — The Russian House in Tunis hosted the official opening of the Russian–Arab Literature Pavilion as part of the Days of the Assembly of the Peoples of the World in Tunisia. The pavilion was inaugurated by Margarita Al, President of the World Organization of Writers (WOW), and Ashraf Dali of Egypt, Vice President of WOW Media Group. The ceremony celebrated literary dialogue and intercultural exchange between the Russian and Arab worlds.
The pavilion features a curated collection of contemporary and classical literature donated by members of the international delegation to enrich the Russian House library and strengthen its role as a cultural hub.

A special exhibition presented books authored by winners of the WOW Awards, including Konstantin Kedrov-Chelishchev, Olzhas Suleimenov, Varis Yelchiev, Ashraf Aboul-Yazid Dali, Alexandra Ochirova, Mamta Sagar, Tugrul Tanyol, Wale Okediran, Adel Khozam, and Danilo José Urtecho. Their books were officially exhibited and donated to the library, emphasizing a shared commitment to global understanding through literature.
Margarita Al presented her latest avant-garde poetry collection ApriorUm, a trilingual edition in Russian, English, and Arabic, published in Cairo as part of the “Silk Road Literature Series.”
Dr. Ashraf Aboul-Yazid also introduced several of his original and translated works, including children’s poetry, fiction, travel literature, and translated anthologies and folktales, highlighting his dedication to literary exchange.

The event underscored the mission of the World Organization of Writers to promote cross-cultural communication and celebrate literary achievements worldwide. By placing these works in the Russian House Library, the initiative opens new opportunities for readers and researchers to engage with internationally recognized authors.
On the same day, the World Organization of Writers and WOW Publishing also presented a collection of contemporary poetry and prose from nine countries at the 40th Tunis International Book Fair. The stand was inaugurated by Margarita Al and Ashraf Dali, with a focus on laureates of the World Literary Prize (WOW).
In their remarks, Margarita Al stressed literature’s power to connect peoples, while Ashraf Dali emphasized the importance of translation and publishing partnerships in bringing Russian and Arab literary traditions closer to new generations.

The event reflects a growing commitment to cultural diplomacy through literature. The Russian–Arab Literature Pavilion remains open to visitors, offering access to a unique collection celebrating shared human stories and artistic expression.
The Russian House in Tunis continues to serve as a center for cultural exchange, while the 40th Tunis International Book Fair marks a milestone as one of the Arab world’s major literary gatherings, promoting dialogue, diversity, and knowledge.
